We are pleased to inform you that on September 7, 2011, Hitachi Data Systems announced its acquisition of BlueArc. BlueArc products, technologies and expertise will be an important part of the Hitachi Data Systems strategy to be the foundation for seamless access to all data, content and information.

Hitachi Data Systems provides best-in-class information technologies, services and solutions that deliver compelling customer ROI, unmatched return on assets (ROA) and demonstrable business impact. With a vision that IT must be virtualized, automated, cloud-ready and sustainable, Hitachi Data Systems offers solutions that improve IT costs and agility. Hitachi Data Systems believes that data drives our world – and information is the new currency.

BlueArc has enjoyed a strong relationship with Hitachi Data Systems since 2006 as part of its developing file and content strategy. Together, BlueArc and Hitachi Data Systems will accelerate our innovations, providing customers with even more reliable and high-performance solutions that store and manage digital content and unstructured (filebased) data. We are executing on our plan to transform traditional data centers into information centers – where customers can seamlessly access all data, content and information. They can access information that is available and searchable from anywhere and at any time. They can also access information that is independent of the infrastructure, independent of the application and can be securely and cost-effectively accessed, searched, managed and governed forever.

At this time, we don’t expect that this acquisition will bring any change to how you conduct business with BlueArc. You will be invited to attend briefing sessions to learn more about new programs that will be available to you.

  • There will be no change to our current program or integration agreements during the initial transition phase.
  • Certification or validation approvals will progress as planned under your current program during the initial transition phase.

Together, BlueArc and Hitachi Data Systems bring partners increased benefits and value. In the coming weeks, partners will receive communications on new programs designed for their success. As we work to combine Hitachi Data Systems and BlueArc Sales, Service and Operations, we will continue to strive to be your most valued data storage vendor partner, to help you increase your knowledge and confidence in our entire product line and to provide you with programs, incentives and solutions that will help you gain customers, drive revenue, grow margin and expand your market opportunity.
